These reusable silicone bottle stoppers from @makobarware make saving an unfinished bottle of wine for the next evening easy. Purchased on a whim, they particularly stood out to me at the store due to their minimal and all recyclable packaging (entirely cardboard/paper) and later surprised me with their durability and ability to seal bottles without sideways-spillage. In this case, the packaging (or lack thereof) directed my decision. As a consumer who is constantly seeking eco-friendly alternatives and prizes sustainability in all its facets, this low-waste option pleases me to no end. These sell for approximately $5 for a set of two ($4 + shipping on the Mako website or currently $4.99 at @worldmarket).

While it may not make a difference, I use the darker stopper (purple in my set) for red wines and the lighter (pink in my set) for whites to prevent potential staining. I love that I can reuse these time and time again without the guilt of having sent plastic packaging to landfill. Mako says that they are top-rack dishwasher safe, although I have found hand-washing to be perfectly effective so far. Due to their silicone material and one-size-fits all design, these little stoppers keep the bottles leak-free and sealed until I am ready to pour another glass.
