Brew review:

"Hop Bullet" Double IPA by @sierranevada.

Infused with lupulin powder and Magnum hops, this beer is crisply pleasant and easy-going. Grapefruit, pineapple, asian pear, and a hint of mango are present in both scent and taste but a bold hop flavor and a citrus rind bitterness ultimately leads. There are also some underlying floral and pine notes. These give it a slightly soapy quality that some might dislike but I felt was evened out with the refreshing tropical character.

Sierra Nevada’s canned double IPA pours beautifully; A frothy and consistent head forms as a pale and somewhat murky amber hue fills the glass.

Despite the fruit flavors, it’s definitely on the bitter side. Those who seek hoppy beers will likely enjoy the pronounced and intentionally hop-forward nature of Sierra Nevada's "Hop Bullet." It's potent without feeling harsh and mellow without tasting dull. I don't see myself regularly reaching for this one, but rather seeking it when a craving strikes. I certainly intend to enjoy it again.

With a smooth texture yet a lingering finish of bitterness, this one would likely compliment zesty and fresh appetizers or snacks and balmy, cloudless days spent outdoors.

According to a quote from Barnivore.com, Sierra Nevada does not filter their beers with animal byproducts. They also clearly list all ingredients used in each beer on the Sierra Nevada website.
